Dear Trinity Community,<\/p>\n

Less than three months to go until we kick off Trinity\u2019s Bicentennial! Both of us have fond memories of our years on campus, and we hope you, too, will recall yours throughout the Bicentennial year. This is a chance to rekindle friendships, to engage in thought-provoking conversations, or to simply experience the beautiful campus as it is today. Mostly, this is an opportunity to remember and to connect. We hope you\u2019ll make the most of it.<\/p>\n

New details may be found on the Bicentennial website, www.trincoll.edu\/Bicentennial<\/a>. Below are a few updates and reminders:<\/p>\n

Alumni Bicentennial Celebration\u2014June 9\u201311, 2023<\/h2>\n

Planning continues to shape up for the weekend, which will be held in conjunction with Reunion Weekend (for classes ending in 3s and 8s). Look for reminders and announcements about overnight accommodations<\/a> next week. Event registration will open in early April. Newly added:<\/strong> the first of our alumni panel discussions, \u201cCommitting to the Future: The Role of Sports in Modern Society,\u201d has been confirmed; it will feature a conversation among alumni working in professional sports and will be moderated by Robin Sheppard M\u201976. More details are on the way. It sounds like an amazing weekend!<\/p>\n

Bicentennial Carillon Concert\u2014July 12<\/h2>\n

Remember the last time you heard the 49-bell campus carillon? Come and enjoy the free outdoor Bicentennial Carillon Concert, which will feature food and a new piece composed for the Bicentennial by Ellen Dickinson.<\/p>\n

Athletic Receptions\u2014October 14 for Fall Athletes<\/h2>\n

Calling alumni of athletic teams! We are planning joint receptions for teams, with the first event scheduled during the Bicentennial Fall Weekend to honor alumni of the following fall sports: football, men\u2019s and women\u2019s soccer, volleyball, and field hockey. Save the date.<\/p>\n

The story of Trinity College is that of your community. We invite and encourage you to tell a group story with classmates. Places on campus that hold special meaning for you, world events that shaped your experience, Trinity people you will never forget\u2014your stories are welcome. Any length is appreciated, from a paragraph with a photo to an essay with multiple images. The College wants a variety of content and may use your submission on the Bicentennial website, on social media, or in The Trinity Reporter<\/em>. Bear in mind that Trinity reserves the right to edit for clarity, length, grammar, and content appropriateness.
