While much of that support comes from <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">alumni<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> parents of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">current <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">students and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">parents of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">alumni <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">have shown a tremendous commitment to Trinity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hether they serve the college through <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">volunteership<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> or philanthropy, there is a vital contingent of Bantam families who provide support that benefits <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">all Trinity students.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Moreover, the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">se families<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> illustrate the lasting relationships with a vibrant community, forged through a Trinity education.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What makes this enduring dedication to Trinity so important for families whose children have graduated? <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For many, it\u2019s about the experience their children had <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">at <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a critical moment in their lives. Recently, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the college received a new commitment from a <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">parent of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">two <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trinity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> alumni who, thirty years after her last child left the college, had a realization. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cBoth of my kids had strong support in everything they did while they were at Trinity. It was an important part of their lives,\u201d said th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e donor<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Her<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> children graduated in 198<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and 1991<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and while she is proud to make her gift, she<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> wishes to remain <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">an<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">onymous.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">After re<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">vising <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">her estate plans and considering what she wished to prioritize as important institutions in her life, Trinity came to mind immediately. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The college nurtured her children\u2019s interests, fostered close friendships, and supported their pursuits. Now, they have carried this experience with them into adulthood. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">he considered the ex<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">traordinary <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">experience her children had at<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trinity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and realized she had an opportunity to make a difference<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The donor reflected on a memory of the college that led to her decision: <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cTrinity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019s Dean of Admissions at that time was Don Dietrich, and he had a philosophy about students<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">He said <\/span>y<span data-contrast=\"auto\">ou should take a chance on a student because of what they\u2019ve shown they can overcome.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d For this parent, that philosoph<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">y <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">was particularly meaningful<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and helped shape her intentions for her gift.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cI want Trinity to take a chance on a student that might not otherwise be able to go there without a little extra help<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">she said<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Her gift<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> will honor the ways Trinity fostered the success in her own <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">children<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> will offer other student<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the opportunity to overcome challenging circumstances <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">excel at the college.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Put simply, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a scholarship at Trinity is this donor\u2019s way of \u201cpaying it forward.\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For the college, support like this <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">donor\u2019s <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is particularly important. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Parents of alumni who continue to give to the college are responsible for nearly half of t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">otal annual <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">parent donors. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Financial aid has become more critical than ever<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, as students who may have previously been able to afford more of their education may have greater burdens due to the COVID-19 crisis. Financial aid gives Trinity admissions the flexibility to admit students who are exceptional in their <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">qualifications, but<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> limited in their financial <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">cap<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">acity. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">families of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trinity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> graduates, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">an endowed <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">scholarship fund will<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> provide support to students <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in perpetuity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">helping countless <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">future generations of Bantams<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Parent<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> contributions to financial aid, programming, athletics, and more, offer a vital infusion of funds that help to continue <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trinity\u2019s legacy of exc<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">eptional liberal arts education<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
