Despite this, our community is coming together to support and care for each other in incredible ways. We especially thank each of you for your commitment to caring for our students during this difficult time. Please also see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/march-13-cornie-thornburgh\/\">this note of thanks<\/a> from the chair of our Board of Trustees, Cornelia Thornburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Your safety and well-being are critically important to us. Yesterday, Governor Lamont recommended that all state and private employees consider working from home if possible.\u00a0We are taking this advice seriously.\u00a0We will employ social distancing practices and provide remote-work opportunities to safeguard our students and each other.\u00a0Divisional leaders will engage with their teams to develop these plans by next week. If you have concerns or questions at any time, please contact Pat Hardaway in Human Resources.<\/p>\n<p>As we move forward, some additional things to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>We remain flexible as we try to provide the safest environment for you and our students<\/li>\n<li>We are not reducing employee hours<\/li>\n<li>We are providing an additional benefit (see below) to help support employees<\/li>\n<li>The college remains open<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As mentioned above, we are also providing an additional employee benefit.\u00a0The college will add the equivalent of 21 days of sick time to the accrued sick time balance of all benefit-eligible employees.\u00a0These are permanent days that will not expire.\u00a0Human Resources will share the details. We encourage you to use the additional time to stay home if you are sick and\/or to attend to other family-related emergencies or circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Please continue to refer to the college\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/advisories\/covid-19-faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a> about COVID-19 for the most up-to-date information and resources for preventing the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>We anticipate continued change throughout the coming weeks and must do our best to remain flexible to the various needs of our community.
