Resources to help staff with remote meetings, access to campus resources, and general communications platforms.

Videoconferencing

Videoconferencing can be an effective way to replace in-person conversations and meetings. During a video call, you can share your screen, which is helpful when making presentations or showing colleagues what you’re working on. Videoconferencing software also has chat features and other interactive options. You can also call into a video conference by phone. To facilitate all employees and students who are working remotely, we’ve recently purchased a site license to Zoom, so anyone with a trincoll.edu email address can use the software.

Accessing Campus Resources

Many of the resources we use in our everyday work can be accessed from off campus without the need for special software. This includes Office 365. However, if you do need to access on-campus resources (such as Tamba, zep, tbos, etc) from an off-campus machine, you can find instructions to download and use Trinity’s virtual private network (VPN) here:

If your work machine is a Windows machine, one of the best ways to work might be to use our remote-desktop gateway to access your work machine using your home machine, whether your home machine is Windows or Mac. To access the remote-desktop gateway, there are some steps you need to go through from your work computer first.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is also available for file sharing, video conferencing, teleconferencing, as well as text chatting. More information about Teams can be found at here and here.

LinkedIn Learning

If you need help with Zoom, Teams, or any other software, the college has a subscription to LinkedIn Learning, which offers detailed tutorials on many of these tools and many others. You can access LinkedIn Learning here using your Trinity credentials.

Get Help with Tools and Resources

If you need help with any tools or resources for remote work, you can contact Information Services via phone or email, or by submitting an online help-desk ticket . You can also explore more resources and help topics on the Information Services website. For those who do not have access to a computer or webcam at home, Information Services has a very limited supply of equipment to borrow if there is no other option.
