Major/Minor:
Neuroscience
Why You Chose Trinity:
I chose Trinity because of its neuroscience program, urban location, and small class sizes.I was impressed with how interdisciplinary the neuroscience major was, combining my interests in psychology, philosophy, biology, and chemistry. Since President Berger-Sweeney had degrees in neuropsychology and neurotoxicology, I felt that the neuroscience program would provide me with many opportunities during my college career and post-graduation. Born and raised in Chicago, I knew I needed to live in an urban setting. Not only is Hartford an urban location, but is also between Boston and New York, cities that I have never been to before. There were treasure chests of opportunities waiting for me on the East Coast. And lastly, developing close relationships with my professors was necessary for my education, so small class sizes were my top priority.
Favorite Class:

What You Love Most About Trinity:
Despite being a small liberal arts college, Trinity has great science research programs that prepares students for a career in research. My principal investigator, Dr. Terri Williams, has been a huge influence on my research development. She adapts to how I learn as a student and helps me understand concepts. I’m in charge of my own research project, I presented at a national conference, and I have been working on a scientific manuscript with our team for publication in the near future. Additionally, I had the opportunity to conduct clinical cancer research in cardiology-oncology via Trinity’s Health Fellow Program. Ultimately, Trinity has prepared me for success post-graduation.
Your Professional Goals/Career Plans:
I plan to attend medical school. The goal is to become a neurosurgeon or a neuro-oncologist. I’d love to continue my interest in cancer research in the future.
