Why You Chose Trinity:
Trinity was the school I had wanted to attend since I was in middle school. My Dad’s youth leader went here, my grandmother took care of Ferris’ sister, and I thought the campus was beautiful. One of the admissions counselors interviewed me in Memphis, and I knew in that moment that I wanted to be apart of the Trinity community.
Favorite Class:
RHET-302 with Tennyson O’Donnell was absolutely my favorite course here. It is the Writing Associate training class so we all became extremely close and whomever was presenting that day would bring snacks for the entire class.
Favorite Professor:
My favorite professor here is Ciaran Berry in the English Department. I have had him for multiple poetry courses and have gotten to know him well outside of the classroom, too.
Extracurricular Activities:
Writing Associate (Head Tutor) for the Writing Center, Student Admissions Associate, Community Service Office Worker, Running Club Co-President, Chapel Council Co-President, ACES Vice-President, Best Buddies Executive Board member, Habitat for Humanity, The TreeHouse, First-Year Seminar Mentor
What You Love Most About Trinity:
I love the community that I found here at Trinity. I have really managed to make it a home away from home.
Your Professional Goals/Career Plans:
I am planning to go to graduate school after Trinity to pursue my Masters in Special Education and Teacher Certification. I’m hoping to work as a special education teacher in a public school system until I have enough experience to start training to become a diagnostician.
Favorite Place On Campus:
The Chapel Cloister Garden
Favorite Place in Hartford:
Mazzacato Bakery
What’s the most impactful/favorite book you’ve ever read?
The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner
What advice do you have for prospective students applying to college?
Do what feels right for you. I knew Trinity was the right decision for me, but my family really wanted me to stay closer to home.
What’s one thing you wish you knew before coming to college?
That there was a Facebook group for my incoming class.
Have you ever seen your spirit animal in person?
Yes! While abroad, I went on a Spring Break Trip and did a safari in Chobe National Park and saw over 1,000 wild elephants. I cried because I was so happy.
