Wesley Ng Voted National Women’s Rowing Coach of the Year

Head Coach Led Bantams to Division III National Championship in 2014

Oct 24, 2014, Hartford, CT – After leading the Bantams to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship, women’s rowing head coach Wesley Ng was selected as the USRowing Fan's Choice National Coach of the Year. USRowing made the announcement after a fan vote in which close to 30,000 votes were cast.

In Ng’s eighth season as head coach, Trinity captured its first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, topping NESCAC foe Bates and nine-time defending champion Williams. Ng was also named the Division III Coach of the Year by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Trinity won the Head of the Housatonic and the Head of Schuylkill regattas in the fall, posted a 12-0 record in dual races in the spring, won the New England Championship title in the spring, and finished third in the ECAC National Invitational Regatta. The Bantams won overall points trophies at both the New England Championship and ECAC Regattas and the men’s and women’s combined overall points trophy at the New England Championships.

Ng, who has led Trinity to the NCAA Regatta each season, including 2008 when the varsity eight won the program’s second NCAA Division III Varsity Eight National Championship crown as the fastest boat in all of Division III rowing, came in third place at the New England Championship Regatta and fourth in both the ECAC Regatta and the NCAA Division III Regatta in Indianapolis in 2013.
