Printing
There are public computers located around campus that you can use to print to a networked public printer. Three public computer labs in the library allow you to print to our black and white and color printer. You will just need your credentials and your ID card to print. Every student has $30 worth of free printing renewed every semester. You can also print to these public printers directly from your personal computer. To set up printing, visit
www.trincoll.edu/LITC/its/printing for instructions.
Please note that any
personal wireless printers you bring to campus are
not supported at this time. You should bring a printer cable to connect it to your computer. Also note that you will need to go into the printer’s settings and turn off wireless. If you do not do this, the printer will broadcast its own wireless network, which will behave just like a rogue network and cause interference for the campus eduroam network.
Lock Down that Portable!
Laptop computers can be an attractive target for thieves, especially when left unattended and insecure. You can easily deter these types of loses with the use of a security device such as a Kensington Laptop Cable Lock. They are available at the college bookstore. There are also a pool of laptop locks at the circulation desk of the library that patrons can borrow for a 24-hour reserve.
Most dorm rooms are equipped with a security anchor installed on the desk. (If you need one, please contact the Office of Residential Life at x2305.) We suggest you use this device when your laptop is being used in your room. Anchors are located on almost all of the study tables and carrels in the library.
