Common Hour intends to offer the Trinity community an opportunity to absent themselves from daily tasks and concerns, gather, and engage in topics of interest and enjoy performances, lectures, discussions, and readings that enrich our cultural and intellectual lives. The designated weekly hours also seek to showcase the best of what occurs within our campus community.
In order to minimize these conflicts and assure the largest attendance at Common Hour events, we strongly suggest that programming follow these guidelines:

1)    The Thursday Common Hour should be reserved for lectures and speakers likely to cover the broadest topics with an appeal to more general audiences.

2)   The Tuesday Common Hour should be designated for more specialized lectures, topics, and speakers that are likely to draw more targeted audiences.  The Tuesday Common Hour can also be used for meeting times.

3)   Community members interested in reserving a Tuesday or Thursday Common Hour, should visit schedule of events by clicking here. Room and event support services requests should be made via

Mather Hall and Hallden Hall - North Wing are the primary spaces used. The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Faculty Research Committee (FRC), and Trinity Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (TIIS) is given priority scheduling for Hallden Hall – North Wing.

Please note: all expenses associated with the lecture/program must be covered by the sponsoring department. Food and beverages will no longer be provided by the College during the Thursday Common Hour time slot.
