La participación oral se evalúa diariamente según el siguiente esquema entre 0 y 5. 

        0 =    0% = ausencia

        1 =  20% = asistencia sin participación

        2 =  40% = participación pasiva sin preparación

        3 =  60% = participación pasiva con preparación

        4 =  80% = participación activa con preparación

        5 = 100% = participación activa con preparación excepcional

Estos puntos diarios se sumarán al final del semestre para determinar la nota final. Se permite solamente UNA ausencia durante el semestre sin que afecte la nota final. Una actitud positiva y respetuosa en la clase son importantes para la evaluación de la nota de participación.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING LATE ARRIVALS, ABSENCES AND THE FINAL GRADE:

Language acquisition is a process that requires practice in order to achieve a greater level of skill. Daily attendance, adequate preparation (a minimum of 2-3 hours for each class), and active participation are therefore essential. The daily participation grade will be determined by the above 0-5 scale. In addition, NO MORE THAN THREE ABSENCES ARE ALLOWED. Each additional absence will result in the lowering of the final grade by one step (eg. A to A-). Three late arrivals (five minutes after the beginning of class) will count as one unexcused absence. Please note also that a positive and respectful attitude in class is important in the evaluation of the participation grade.
