ENSAYOS

You will write 2 successive versions of 5 compositions (2 full pages), corresponding to assignments with details from class. All versions of each composition must be kept in a writing portfolio (3 ring binder).

  • 1st version: corrected by the instructor using a correction key.

  • 2nd version: self-corrected version using instructor’s suggestions.

  • 3rd version: (optional) additional self-corrected version.

All writing assignments must be type-written and double spaced using a font comparable to Times New Roman 11-12 or Arial 11. Compositions with numerous typos (more than 5) will NOT BE ACCEPTED.  You MUST check the spelling and grammar with computer software designed for this purpose BEFORE the 1st version and BEFORE each remaining version after you make changes or corrections.

These compositions will be graded based on your individual work and consulting with anyone will be considered a violation of academic honor codes (eg. native-speaker roommates, more advanced students, other professors).

Due dates for compositions apply whether you come to class or not, at the BEGINNING of that particular class. Failure to hand in any version on the due date at the time of the class will result in10% deducted for each delay (from class to class). After a week, your essay will not be accepted and your grade will be 0.

Your grade will be based 50% on your first version and 50% on the second. An additional 5 points may be earned in the optional 3rd version, and these points will be added to the averaged grade.
