Human Neuropsychology 392
This is a survey course on the major areas of study in human neuropsychology. The course will involve a review of the approach to measuring human brain function by looking at naturally occurring disorders, stimulation studies and radiographic studies. The focus will be on the functions of association cortex rather than on primary sensory regions. Each region of cortex will be reviewed in the first section of the course. This will be followed by a review of the major cognitive and emotional functions of the cerebral cortex, with reference made to the regions previously studied. The final section of the course will focus on the major neurologic disorders in terms of neuropathology and symptomatology. Readings:Kolb, B. and Whishaw, I. (1990).
