This is the home page of Shakira Aida Ramos. I'm a sophomore at Trinity College in Hartford, Ct. This site was created in part of my first year seminar "Latin Looks". I graduated from Miss Porter's School, an all girl boarding school in Farmington, CT. In the section Personal Info you will find information on me and the things I like to do and about my family. The professor for the seminar is Luis Figueroa. This seminar investigates the different ways Latinos were and still are portrayed through the media. The section H238 Work is part of my Intro to Caribbean History class for spring 1999. This class examines from the discovery of the Caribbean islands to present day. The section H247 Work is part of my Latinos in the US class for spring 1999. This class deals with the issue of the history of Latinos in the US and the stereotypes and ohter issues they have to deal with once in the US.
