Materials for some courses that I have recently taught:
Some other resources available on the Web are:
- University of Michigan
- One of the best introductory pages.
- The Ancient World Web
- Another great introductory page.
- The Perseus Project
- This offers searches for strings of words in Greek texts and all kinds of other
interesting resources .
- Xerox World Maps
- Try this resource to obtain line maps (shorelines and rivers) at any scale you desire.
- Archnet
- A virtual web library. Check out the color-coded museum index!
- The Hermitage Museum
- This joint project by IBM and the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia
includes photographs of the collection's highlights. You will be able to zoom in on part
of an object or view it from another angle.
- Archaeology Magazine
- Archaeology, the "popular" organ of the Achaeological Institute of
America, covers matters of archaeological interest not only in the Greco-Roman
Mediterranean, but the world over. The homepage offers links to pages covering excavations
and publications.
- The American School of Classical Studies at Athens
- This is the best resource for learning about
American archaeological projects in Greece, the school, and its publications.

All of the photographs on this page were taken on archaeological excavations in Israel.
Students enrolled in my Archaeology 300 summer course dig with me in partial fulfillment
of the course requirements. If you are interested in participating in an archaeological
excavation, contact me about the Tel el-Faráh
project in Israel.
