Park River watershed GIS project

Several students have started a project this fall (2006) in ENVS 286 (GIS) that focuses on building a digital map set of the Park River watershed.  We have worked closely with Mary V. Rickel  Pelletier from Parkriver.org who is interested in using GIS to answer questions about land use and future management of open space along the Park River.

We are now able to share the GIS layers that we have constructed from Connecticut DEP shapefiles.  For the original shapefiles please refer to the DEP GIS webpage. All coordinate systems and projects have been maintained from the original DEP data.  More data will be organized here from other sources as it becomes available.

For non-ArcGIS users we plan to build a map set soon that can be viewed with the free ArcReader software available from ESRI.
