The Rugs Have Arrived!

 

The American School furnishes the common spaces in the dorm (the saloni and the salonaki) as well as the houses for faculty with traditional oriental rugs – some new, and some which give the appearance of being rather old.  Every summer they are taken up for cleaning, and then in the late fall, after the house is cleaned from top to bottom of the summer dust, the rugs are put back.  We got ours about two weeks ago, and what a glorious day that was!  Here are some of our favorites:
