Going to See Athena’s Temple

One night, me, Mom, Dad and Alison went to see Athena’s temple, which is called the Acropolis.  There were all these rocks.  Alison and I played don’t touch the ground.  Then Alison quit when mom and dad wanted to see the museum.  I kept on playing.  There were all these great huge statues!  There was one of two lions killing a horse.  The Greeks thought that men’s bodies were beautiful but women had to have clothes on.  There was a statue of a goddess loosening her shoe.  Why did Athena take off her helmet when she was loosening her shoe?  She always had her helmet on.  There was a line of gods, and in the middle was Zeus.  Athena and her uncle liked the same city, and whoever gave the greatest gift got the city.  Her uncle gave a spring, but the water was as salty as the ocean.  Then Athena’s gift was an olive tree.  She gave the best gift.  She got the city!

Zeus was the mighty thunder god.  Athena was the goddess of wisdom.  Hera was Zeus’s wife.  She was always mad at Zeus’s other wives.  Aphrodite was the Goddess of  love.  She had that love necklace.  Ares was that bad guy, the god of war.  Dionysus was the god of wine. Apollo is the god of music. Hermes is the god of messengers and leads people to the entrance of the land of the dead. Demeter is the goddess of the harvest. Persephone is her daughter. Hades is the god of the dead and the underworld.
