From the Byzantine tower that guards the entrance to the bay you can look out over the shimmering sea and across to the peninsula that hosts Bargylia.

The view from the top of the hills is spectacular -- it is easy to imagine the forebears of the Hekatomnids glowering down on the sea, watching for the Athenian fleet, plotting future greatness.
