| Sunset crater | Wupatki Natonal Monument | Craters North of Flagstaff |
| We get up early to
explore the volcanic features of Sunset Crater National Monument, then drive
on to Wupatki National Monument, where we visit an ancient pueblo in 100+
degree heat. From there on we head back North, to visit the Grand canyon one
last time. We camp at Desert Point in a nice National park service campground that is almost empty (for National Park standards). The view from the South Rim is fantastic. We can see the Colorado deep below and the sunset is just awesome.
