Dr. Morrison chased
us out of bed at an ungodly hour and we spent the early morning watching
birds at the south end of the Salton Sea. Things got better once we learned
how to identify them from the backseat of the van rather than by trudging
through the mud flats. We had a nice long breakfast before heading back
North through Joshua Tree to spend one last night in the Mojave National
Preserve. The staff was rather unwilling to show us the caves, but we
had a great hike up xx canyon, and camped in a rather secluded campsite high
up in the mountains. No wind that night. The pines took care of that. No
view either, though. |
