Day 6: Olympic Peninsula: Cape Alava

After a short drive from Willoughby Creek to Forks we spend some time in the local supermarket, getting our espresso fix and looking at all the cool stuff that's on sale.  Then we head out to Lake Ozette and take the 9 mile hike out to Cape Alava and along the beach.  We have get a chance to watch seals on some of the seastacks and almost get caught by the incoming tide.
On our hike along the coast, while rappelling down a cliff we catch a glimpse of Sasquatch and get a fuzzy picture.  That night we camp at Whiskey Creek.  Before we arrive in camp we pick up two good-sized salmon for dinner.  Emily and Prof. Morrison  try to sweet talk the locals into filleting the fish for us but they fail miserably.  The fact that a white van, with seven telephoto lenses sticking out the windows, was parked nearby might have something to do with it.  The old Swiss-Army knife did an excellent job, and there is not much that can top grilled salmon on the beach.
