Day 9: Newspaper Rock - Wilson Arch - Arches National Park - Moab - Fisher Towers

group at Wilson ArchOur first stop this morning was Wilson Arch, right off US 191.  It is one of my favourite arches: a great arch, easily accessible and a great lunch spot on a hot day.  Try it, its well worth hauling all the food up the slickrock face.  This time we were way too early for lunch, so we enjoyed the view, snapped pictures and talked about arch formation.
It promised to turn into a hot day, so we spent the rest of the morning hiking up to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.  One of the assignments was to do a sketch of delicate arch, which attracted the attention of a bunch of school kids.  For some reason, some of them are still convinced that we are architects and make lots of money.  Mark, what did you tell those kids?
We found a nice shady lunch spot and spent the afternoon hiking the Devil's Garden Trail.  The evening saw us back at the Lazy Lizard hostel in Moab, where we enjoyed some long deserved showers before we drove out to our campsite at Fisher Towers.
