We spent the morning hiking at Fisher Towers, studying the sandstones and conglomerates and how they relate to the Uncompaghre uplift to the east.  After a quick lunch and shopping stop in Moab we head out to Dead Horse Point State park to enjoy the view and spend an hour writing up our assignments.
Then its time to head back to salt Lake City and we try to spend the night at Price Canyon near Price.  Unfortunately the site is closed and locked up by a gate too sturdy for our van...  The site is closed and after some deliberations, an extensive tour of the town of Helper (5 minutes) and an exhaustive search for a place to eat, we return back to Price where we enjoy Chinese dining Utah style.  here we meet two friendly folks from the College of Eastern Utah who recommend Scofield State Park.  After a long drive through dark valleys we arrive at Utah's highest State park, amidst a sea of 50 ft long RV's, diesel generators and campsites reserved for "invisible brothers".  It was a cold night...
