| IRM acquisition curves, measured up to a maximum field of 1.5T, show that dust samples from Owens Lake (T62-93) are saturated in a field < 300mT. Samples more distant from the lake, however, are still gaining IRM in fields > 300 mT and are often not saturated at 1.5T. This indicates the presence of an additional "magnetically hard" phase, such as goethite or hematite. |
