Feminist Interpretations: The Bond Girls
There's an aura of excitement floating around me at this moment.
No, it's not because it's almost the end of the semester and vacation time is coming up. No, it's not because Muppets From Space will soon be coming out on video. No, it's not because I've recently discovered that if I ever need a career to fall back on I can do clothed exotic dancing (which I guess wouldn't really be that exotic). Those reasons are way too obvious.
My excitement stems from an obsession I've had almost since birth, a thirst that is only quenched every few years. That's right, I'm a Bond girl at heart. James Bond is like heroin to me (except probably less life-threatening). I need my fix, and when those new Bond trailers start coming out, I'm hooked. The new one is The Word Is Not Enough with my third favorite Bond (behind the legends Roger Moore and Sean Connery), Pierce Brosnan.

Working After Dark
It is four o' clock on a Sunday afternoon: what are you doing? If you are like most of the people I have observed on this campus, you are beginning to contemplate the weekend's worth of homework buried under the debris on your desk. As you sling your backpack over your shoulder and prepare to trudge over to the library, you might notice something that adds to the burden of Sunday afternoons - the darkening sky.If you recall, it wasn't that long ago that we all turned the clocks back an hour. For Your Convenience
My fifth registration week at Trinity College arrived and departed in a like manner as the prior four had. There was the initial moment of confusion upon discovering the registration materials in my mailbox, then the overpowering need to seek out a Spring Schedule of classes, and of course, the ensuing chaos and scrambling to obtain instructors' signatures, pending 0800 hours, Monday. My attitude toward the affair remained mostly apathetic throughout most of the week, but at times, such as on an expedition from MCEC to Williams Memorial, my mind would generate questions.

Now You See Him, Now You Don't
Hello there. I'm a girl. I'm a freshman. Sound good? People think I'm cute, too. That all seems to me like a good way to become popular on this here Trinity campus, doesn't it? No? Aww, that makes me sad. You mean I can't get by on being attractive? Heck, even the first top ten list of this here publication the Tripod, said I could: "How to get freshman girls." Catchy, huh?
Now, let me just say to any fellow frosh girls reading this, don't even try to tell me you don't enjoy it. I do. You do. We all do. It's fun to be chased. Yet, there is a line to be drawn. I do not propose to draw that line. I do not propose to change the celebrated tradition of treating a new shipment of freshman girls like new territory to be marked...

Volunteering Provides Valuable Opportunties
Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon I venture down Broad Street to the Boys and Girls Club. Sporting my bright yellow volunteer shirt, I receive the expected hoots from passer-bys before reaching the club. The building is bright and new, conveying a sense of hope and offering a happy and safe haven for the kids of Hartford.
Most of the kids arrive after three and stay well into the night. Although they spend hours there every week, the many programs and activities offered to the kids keeps them busy and entertained.
