Lenny Kravitz Comes Up Big With
Circus

In his fourth CD, Lenny Kravitz produces his most dynamic material to date. "Rock And Roll Is Dead," the first release from Circus is an up-tempo lead guitar oriented song. Having a similar style to his last chartbuster Are You Gonna Go My Way, his latest release surpasses his last smash hit. The lyrics in this song mock the lifestyles many of rock's most celebrated figures. Kravitz is obviously unhappy with the materialistic ideals and direction many of today's modern rockers choose. The rest of the CD is a surprise to the listener. "Don't Go And Put A Bullet In Your Head," the ninth song on the disc, is a message Kravtiz is sending to younger generations. He is trying to discourage people from resorting to violence to solve their problems, whether financial or emotional. While listening to the CD, it is clear that Kravitz's musicianship has matured since his last release. Uncharacteristicly, his latest recording utilizes a gospel sound to bring new elements of soul to his music. He shows maturity and progress in Circus. Are You Gonna Go My Way was his best seller but it lacked originality and left the listener aniticipating something more. Circus doesn't leave the listener disappointed. Each and every track is unique, but like his previous hits, Kravitz plays most of the intruments.

Circus will be another hit for Kravitz. His musical ability is astonishing and suprpasses that of many of today's most popular artisits. He is an extremely diverse musician. Not only is the music excellent, but the photography for the inner booklet of the CD is unique. Fans of Lenny Kravitz should make a run to the nearest record shop and pick up a copy of Circus, they will be pleasantly suprised.
