Introducing The Trincoll Journal...

The revolution of electronic publishing has arrived! However it's not being brought to you by Clement Mok, Microsoft, or Saatchi & Saatchi. The revolution is not on CompuServe, America Online or Delphi.

Instead the revolution of electronic publishing is brought to you by twenty-five students from a small liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut. These students are producing what people are calling the "best looking magazine on the Internet."

The Trincoll Journal is the Internet's only weekly multimedia magazine. Conceived of at the advent of WWW technology, the Journal has had an internet presence since the birth of NCSA Mosaic in 1993. The Trincoll Journal is the only weekly on-line magazine to incorporate video, sound and graphics in its articles. In addition, the Journal differs from other publications by its use of sophisticated layout and graphics, including HTML proposed Spec 3.2, Java Script and Java, and Perl.

The Trincoll Journal is freely available to the estimated 45 million people who currently use the Internet. Most of its readers are students and professionals, 18-30 years of age.

To view the Journal point any browser, such as NCSA Mosaic, Netscape, or Microsoft Internet Explorer at the following URL:

The Trincoll Journal was created in 1992 at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut, to serve as an electronic alternative to the school's printed newspaper. First developed as Hypercard Stacks on Macintosh SE's, a Quadra 840AV, and a Centris 610 the Journal quickly took to the web with the advent of the first beta versions of NCSA Mosaic. When the Trincoll Journal switched over to using the Internet's World Wide Web system for publishing the magazine, it became the Web's first and only student run multimedia magazine. Since that time the Trincoll Journal has begun to receive hundreds of thousands of visits a week from sites around the world.

The Journal's core staff is located at Trinity College in Hartford CT., however its content is truly collaborative. Correspondents from others schools and organizations on the Internet frequently contribute articles, art, and creative works for inclusion in each issue. The Trincoll Journal currently has correspondents at the following schools:

Princeton University, Bucknell University, Vassar College, University of Melbourne, Davidson College, Georgetown University, Williams College, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, American University, Tufts University, Columbia University, New York University, University of Hartford, Hong Kong University, and Yale University.
