The ICE IS BACK !!! We're ready to go for another season of ice skating here at the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Public Skating, Learn to Skate classes, Birthday Parties are returning and Learn to Play Hockey, Men's Leagues, Speed Skating and Broomball are some of the new activities this season.
The Koeppel Community Sports Center opened its doors in November 2006, and is a multi-use athletic facility on the southern edge of campus. It features the Albert Creighton Williams '64 Rink, a state of the art 200' x 90' ice arena that serves as home-ice for Trinity Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey teams, and provides opportunities for faculty, students, and staff to collaborate with the community through academic and athletic mentoring programs.
Designed as an extension of the Learning Corridor educational campus, the sports center meets one of SINA's key objectives—providing safe space for recreational opportunities and constructive programming for the community. The Koeppel Center may be the first urban community athletic facility in the country that connects neighborhood families with the resources of a liberal arts college.
Over the summer, the Koeppel Community Sports Center installed a "state of the art" IceCourt EXXESS Inline Hockey Floor, a suspended polypropylene multi-sport floor system, that will allow the facility to further serve the community over the non-ice summer months. Information for next season will be available early in 2008 for programs beginning April 1, 2008 through August 2008.
