What is the Student Government
Association (SGA)?
The SGA is the centralized, representative
body for student government on the Trinity College campus. It deals
with a broad range of issues relating to student life on the
campus and oversees every recognized student organization.
It is interested in hearing from students who have recommendations
for improving the life of students at Trinity and typically
becomes actively involved in most issues on the campus.
SGA Elections:
The Student Government Association
(SGA) is composed of students elected from class representatives,
at-large representatives, and an IDP student representative.
The President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of
Finance, the Vice President of Multi-Cultural Affairs, and
the newly created Vice President of Student Activities are
elected at-large and do not have to be on the SGA. All
elections for representatives are held in the third week of
September, with vacancies filled in January. The President,
Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance, the Vice
President of Multi-Cultural Affairs and the three at-large
Budget Committee members are elected two weeks after spring
break for the following year. Interested students
should contact the President of the SGA, the Student Activities
Coordinator, or the Student Government Office. All are
located on the first floor in Mather Hall.
