First-Year Program

The First-Year Program at Trinity College is designed to integrate the academic and residential life of first-year students. The Program includes first-year seminars which are designed to train students to write, discuss, and think critically. In the seminars, students explore an intellectually challenging topic with 12 - 15 of their classmates. Seminar instructors serve as the academic advisor students use until they declare a major, usually in the fourth semester at Trinity. An upperclass peer mentor supports the students in each seminar, providing general academic assistance, including writing, computing, and advising support in the classroom and residence hall. Beyond the classroom, the First-Year Program introduces students to the academic resources of the College and the Hartford community.


Important Dates in 2004:
09/02 Thursday First-year students arrive for check-in day and the beginning of first-year orientation.
10/15-16 Friday, Saturday Family Weekend 2004
