TRINITY WOMEN'S TENNIS COMPETES
IN ITA REGIONALS AT BOWDEN

Brunswick, Maine- Junior Diana Goldman (Milton, Mass.) advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles tourney, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships at Bowdoin College this weekend.

Goldman, who was seeded No. 3 in the tournament, won in straight sets over Andrea Lubold, of Mount Holyoke, and edged Paulette Hricko, of Bowdoin, in an exciting three-set match. Goldman came back from a 4-6 loss in the first set to take the second set, 6-1, and outlasted Hricko, 11-9, in the deciding set. In the quarters, Goldman dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match against No. 5-seeded and eventual champion Rachel Holt, of Amherst.

Trinity sophomore Diana Dreyfus (Scarsdale, N.Y.), seeded No. 6 in the tourney, advanced to the second round in singles, while senior co-captain Courtney Sargeant (North Attleboro, Mass.) lost in the opening round in three sets to No. 8-seeded Alexis Bawden, of Bowdoin. In doubles action, Dreyfus and Sargent advanced to the second round with an 8-4 victory in their first match, but dropped an 8-2 decision in the second round.
