SARGEANT SETS WIN RECORD AND LEADS TRINITY WOMEN’S TENNIS TO TRIUMPH

Hartford, Conn.- Senior co-captain Courtney Sargeant (Attleboro, Mass.) won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 3 singles to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in its women’s tennis season opener this afternoon. Trinity is 1-0 and the Camels are 0-1.

Sargeant’s victory was the 44th of her Trinity career, setting a new College record for singles wins. Sargeant is 44-25 for her career, and surpasses Claire Slaughter ’85 on the all-time list. Sargeant also teamed with sophomore Diana Dreyfus (Scarsdale, N.Y.) for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles for the Bantams.
