TRINITY WOMEN'S SQUASH CRUSHES CORNELL

Hartford, Conn. - Freshman Carolynne Minkowski (Baltimore, Md.) allowed just two total points in the three games of her 3-0 win at No. 8 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to 9-0 win over the visiting Cornell University Big Red in women's squash action this evening. The Trinity women, which are ranked No. 2 in the nation, improve their perfect record to 8-0, while No. 5-ranked Cornell falls to 6-4.

Seven out of nine Trinity players won 3-0 matches, including senior captain No. 2 Janine Thompson (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) who allowed only three total points scored against her, as well as freshman No. 3 Pamela Saunders (Harrare, Zimbabwe) and sophomore No. 5 Clare Austin (Banbury, England) who both allowed just seven points in three games of their 3-0 triumphs.

Trinity freshman No. 1 Amina Helal (Manchester, England), the No. 2-ranked player in the nation defeated No. 5-ranked Olga Puigdemont-Sola (Blanes-Girona, Spain), 3-0, while junior Mollie Anderson (Buffalo, N.Y.) came back from a 2-0 deficit to win a 3-2 match at No. 6 for the Bantams.
