TRINITY WOMEN'S SQUASH UPSETS PENN ON THE ROAD
Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior captain Janine Thompson (Port Elizabeth, South Africa), the No. 2 player in intercollegiate women's squash, dominated play at the No. 2 position with a 9-4, 9-3, 9-0 victory over No. 8 Dafna Wegner (Herzelia, Israel) to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 win over the University of Pennsylvania Quakers in women's squash action this afternoon. Trinity, which is tied at No. 3 in the nation with Princeton and Brown, is now 2-0 , while the No. 2 Quakers fall to 3-1 and snap a 15-match winning streak.
Freshman Amina Helal (Manchester, England) made her Trinity debut, playing at No. 1, with a 3-1 victory over Runa Reta (Ottawa, Ontario), the No. 4 player in the nation. Helal dropped the first game, 10-8, but rallied to take the last three with relative ease. Fellow Trinity freshman Pam Saunders (Harrare, Zimbabwe) defeated No. 14 Lauren Patrizio (Philadelphia, Pa.), 3-0, at the No. 3 position.
