TRINITY WOMEN'S SQUASH OPENS SEASON
WITH WIN AT WILLIAMS
Williamstown, Mass. - Senior captain Janine Thompson (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) won did not allow a single point in a 3-0 victory at the No.1 position to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 win over the Williams College Ephs in the women's squash season-opener for both teams this afternoon.
Trinity, which is now 1-0, was ranked No. 4 in the Women's Intercollegiate Squash Association Poll entering the match. Williams, ranked No. 9 entering the match, falls to 0-1. Thompson is the No. 2 player in the individual rankings.
Five other Trinity players posted 3-0 wins, including the first of their collegiate careers for freshmen Sarah Frank (Philadelphia, Pa.), Carolynne Minkowski (Baltimore, Md.), Barbara Escobar (Stamford, Conn.), and Pamela Saunders (Harrare, Zimbabwe).
