FELIS AND SHIELDS LEAD TRINITY
WOMEN’S SOCCER TO WIN OVER CAMELS
Williamstown, Mass.- Sophomore midfielder Leah Felis (Stowe, Vt.) scored the game’s only goal in the 36th minute to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 1-0 win over the Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s soccer action this afternoon on Harkness Green.
Trinity improves to 4-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the NESCAC while snapping a three-game losing skid. The Camels fall to 6-3 and 2-3 in the league with their first loss in the last six games.
Felis netted the goal on a beautiful pass from junior forward Lindsay Aquilina (Williamsville, N.Y.). Connecticut College senior forward Lauren Luciano (Longmeadow, Mass.) had a potentially game-tying goal waved off on an offsides call with five minutes remaining in the contest.
Bantam sophomore Brenna Shields (Cutchogue, N.Y.) had five saves for the shutout victory, while sophomore Paige Diamond (Longmeadow, Mass.) made four stops for the Camels.
