TRINITY WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO BOWDOIN
Brunswick, Maine- Anna Shappell (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) stopped six shots
to record the shutout and lead the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 3-0 win over
the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 5-5-1
overall and 2-4-1 in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 9-2-1.
The Bantams controlled play until the 30th minute of action when Bowdoin was
assessed a penalty kick. Bowdoin junior forward Hillary Smith (Denver, Colo.)
cashed in on the break to give the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead which they never
relinquished. Bantam sophomore goalie Brenna Shields (Cutchogue, N.Y.) had seven saves.
