SOCCER DEFEATS TRINITY IN OVERTIME
Hartford, Conn. - Connecticut College senior Lena Eckhoff (Brattleboro,Vt.) scored the game-winning goal in the 104th minute of play to lead the host Camels to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the NESCAC with the defeat, while Connecticut College improves to 2-1 and 1-1 in the league with its second consecutive win. Both of Trinity's losses this season have come in overtime.
The lone goal of the game for the Bantams came at the 49:55 mark when sophomore forward Courtney Doyle (West Simsbury, Conn.) found the left corner of the net to tie the game at 1-1. Trinity freshman Brenna Shields (Cutchogue, N.Y.), finished with 10 saves in goal, while senior Laura Knisely (Great Falls, Va,) tallied nine for the Camels.
