DOCKERY LEADS BATES TO WIN
OVER TRINITY WOMEN’S SOCCER

Lewiston, Maine - Senior forward Kate Dockery (New York, N.Y.) scored two goals to lead the Bates College Bobcats to a 4-0 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s soccer action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC with its second loss in a row, while Bates improves to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Dockery broke a scoreless tie on an assist by sophomore back Catherine Crosby (Lincoln, Mass.) 29:02 into the game. The Bobcats added three goals late in the second half, including a second which was assisted by Crosby.

Trinity almost put itself back into the game late in the first half when sophomore forward Courtney Doyle (West Simsbury, Conn.) hit the top of the goal with a blistering shot from 35 yards away. Bantam senior goalkeeper Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) made 12 saves in 81 minutes in her first start of the season, before yielding to freshman backstop Katherine Mahoney (Wellesley, Mass.). Junior goalie Kim Martell (Needham, Mass.) had four saves for the Bobcats, who outshot Trinity, 28-8.
