TRINITY AND WESLEYAN TIE IN WOMEN'S SOCCER
Hartford, Conn. - Junior forward Sarah Kaminski (Burlington, Conn.) and freshman forward Lindsay Aquilina (Buffalo, N.Y.) scored goals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-2 tie against the Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference womens soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity is record is now 4-7-2 overall and 1-6-1 in the NESCAC, while Wesleyan improves to 2-9-2 on the year and 0-7-1 in the league.
Kaminski scored on an assist from junior forward Kerry Hood (Londonderry, N.H.) in the 24th minute, but Wesleyan senior Nellie Coogan (Tisbury, Mass.) answered with the first of two goals in the game with 2:46 remaining in the firts half. Aquilina scored on a cross from freshman midfielder Kate Salottolo (Bethel, Conn.) that was redirected by freshman forward Courtney Doyle (Simsbury, Conn.) 1:32 later, and Trinity led, 2-1, at the half.
Coogan scored the only goal of the second stanza on an assist from junior Jen Wallach (Newton, Mass.) to tie the score for good 11:58 into the half.
Trinity junior goalkeeper Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) made seven saves, while junior Ella Naef (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) made 20 saves for the Cardinals. Trinity outshot Wesleyan, 39-20.
