TUFTS DEFEATS TRINITY WOMENS SOCCER
Hartford, Conn. - Junior Becky Mann (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored the game-winning in the secondf half to lead the visiting Tufts University Jumbos to a 3-1 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference womens soccer action this afternoon.
Trinitys record is now 4-7-1 overall and 1-6 in the league, while Tufts improved to an impressive 10-2 on the year and 6-1 in the NESCAC.
Sophomore Adie Sherwood (Woodinville, Wash.) scored at the 37:48 mark of the game and held the lead throughout the first half. In the second half, Trinity senior Karen OKeefe (North Brandford, Conn.) scored off of a penalty kick to close the gap, but Mann scored just a few minutes later. Tufts sophomore Cara Glassanos (Hingham, Mass.) scored off a corner kick in the final minutes to account for a 3-1 final.
Trinity junior goalkeeper Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) made 18 saves, while Randee McArdle (East Nassau, N.Y.) had 10 saves for the Jumbos in the first half and Mara Schanfield (St. Paul, Minn.) made two saves in the second half.
