BONNEY HAT TRICK GIVES MIDDLEBURY WIN OVER TRINITY

Middlebury, Vt. - Sophomore Meg Bonney (Norwich, Vt.) had a hand in every Middlebury goal as the Middlebury College Panthers defeated the visiting Trinity College Bantams by a score of 4-0 in New England Small College AThletic Conference women's soccer action this afternoon.

Trinity finishes the season with a 4-8-1 record and a 1-7-1 mark in the NESCAC, while the Panthers, ranked No. 2 in New England and No. 10 in the nation, ends up at 13-1 overall and 8-1 in the league.

Bonney came off the bench midway through the first half and shortly took over the game. At 33:37, junior Ellie Wendell (Milton, Mass.) intercepted an errant pass and fed Bonney, who struck the ball past Trinity junior goalkeeper Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) from 15 yards out.

Under a minute later, Haley Holmer played a perfect ball to Bonney who drove the ball from the top of the box just inside the left post. Bonney closed out the hat trick when Holmer fed her a pass at the 10-yard line that she settled and shot for the goal with eight seconds remaining in the first half.

Bradley was solid in net for Trinity with 10 saves, while junior Ali Connolly (Marblehead, Mass.) made seven saves for the Panthers.
