TRINITY WOMENS SOCCER ERUPTS FOR EIGHT
GOALS AGAINST MANHATTANVILLE
Hartford, Conn. - Junior forward Kerry Hood (Londonderry, N.H.) had two goals and an assist and classmate Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) notched a goal and a pair of assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-0 win over the visiting Manhattanville College Valiants in womens soccer action this afternoon.
The Bantams have won two straight games to improve their record to 2-1-1 and 1-0 in the NESCAC, while Manhattanville falls to 1-4.
Trinity scored early and often, starting with the first of two goals by senior tri-captain forward Jessica Ritter (Hartford, Conn.) 3:14 into the game. Hood scored unassisted 4:58 later, followed by a pair of goals by freshman forward Lindsay Aquilina (Buffalo, N.Y.). Fellow freshman forward Rebecca Sullivan (Boston, Mass.) assisted on both of Aquilinas scoring shots to give Trinity a 4-0 lead at the half.
Dullea, Hood, and Ritter added goals in the second half for Trinity, along with freshman forward Courtney Doyle (Simsbury, Conn.). Senior tri-captain midfielder Marisa Eddy (Los Angeles, Calif.) had two assists in the game.
Manhattanville sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth McNamee (West Hartford, Conn.) fared admirably with 18 saves, while being peppered by 42 Bantam shots. The Valiants got off eight shots, but could get none past Trinity junior goalie Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) who finished with four saves in 70-plus minutes.
