TRINITY WOMEN'S SOCCER BEATS CONN FOR FIRST WIN
Hartford, Conn. - Freshman midfielder Lindsay Aquilina (Buffalo, N.Y.) notched a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 3-1 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity, which was playing its league opener, improves to 1-1-1, while the Camels fall to 1-2 and 0-2 in the NESCAC. The Bantams broke a 242 minute scoring drought with three first half goals.
Trinity freshman forward Courtney Doyle (Simsbury, Conn.) scored the season's first goal with 8:53 to play in the first half. It was Doyle's first career appearance for Trinity. 3:51 later, Aquilina scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Kate Salottolo (Bethel, Conn.). Aquilina assisted junior forward Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) on Trinity's third goal with :28 remaining in the half.
Lena Eckhoff (Brattleboro, Vt.) got the Camels on the board, putting the ball past Trinity junior goalie Sarah Bradley (Mansfield, Conn.) with 5:49 left in the game. Bradley finished with six saves while Elayna Zachko (Saugas, Mass.) had eight for Connecticut College.
