AMHERST WOMEN'S SOCCER WEATHERS
THE STORM AGAINST THE BANTAMS
Hartford, Conn.- Junior Laura Raybould (Denville, N.J.) scored the game's first goal in the 40th minute to lead the visiting Amherst College Lady Jeffs to a 2-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's soccer action this afternoon.
Trinity, which has lost two in a row, falls to 2-3-1 and 1-2 in the NESCAC, while Amherst, ranked No. 10 in New England, improves to 4-2 and 3-1 in the league with its second straight win. The game was played in cold, windy, and rainy conditions.
Fellow junior Cathy Poor (Harwichport, Mass.) also scored a goal for the Jeffs. Trinity sophomore goalkeeper Erin LeDell (Wayzata, Minn.) made 11 saves for the Bantams, and sophomore Brooke Diamond (Longmeadow, Mass.) stopped eight shots for Amherst.
