TRINITY’S BLAIR ASSURED TO BE WRESTLING ALL-AMERICAN WITH TWO WINS  AT NATIONALS

Ada, Ohio – Freshman heavyweight Michael Blair (Plymouth, N.H.) posted a 2-1 record in his three matches, representing the Trinity College Bantams in the first day of matches in the NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships at Ohio Northern University today. 

Blair entered the Championships as an unseeded wild card, but downed No. 8-seeded Matt Schoenherr, of Milwaukee Engineering, 12-7, in the first round.  Blair dropped a 4-0 decision against top-seeded Leroy Gardner, of Wartburg, in the quarterfinals, but trouned Drew Reinecker, of McDaniel, 10-2, in the consolation fourth round.  Blair assured himself of at least a top eight finish, which will earn him All-American honors, and can finish as high as fifth overall after tomorrow’s matches.
