Hartford, Conn.- Junior Wesley Connell (Simsbury, Conn.) won all three matches in the 165 pound weight class, including two pins, to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-0 record in a quad match Saturday afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 24 in the nation, won a close match over No. 15 Springfield College, 23-16, before handily defeating Johnson and Wales, 37-13, and Plymouth State, 35-10.

Connell’s pin over Springfield’s Brian Viglione (Chelmsford, Mass.) put the match out of reach at 23-13 with just one match to go. With their second victory, coming at the hands of Johnson and Wales, the Bantams set a new College record for wins surpassing the previous record of 18. Trinity, also ranked No. 1 in New England, improves to 20-2 with the three victories.

Trinity also swept all three heavy weight matches, with freshman Michael Blair (Plymouth, N.H.) posting wins against Springfield and Plymouth State, and classmate Bryan Dubiel (Avon, Conn.) registered a pin in under a minute against Johnson and Wales University. Sophomore 197-pounder Matt Webster (Foxboro, Mass.) also won two matches via pin against Plymouth and Johnson and Wales. Also registering a pin for the Bantams was 174-pound senior Lucas McKittrick (Lincolnville, Maine), who did so in just 43 seconds, against Plymouth.
