BANTAM WRESTLERS SWEEP TECH INSTITUTES

Cambridge, Mass.- Junior 149-pounder Eric Egolf (Glastonbury, Conn.)
and sophomore 165-pounder Wesley Connell (Simsbury, Conn.) each pinned one
opponent and defeated another to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams
to a sweep of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Worcester
Polytechnic Institute in a New England College Conference Wrestling
Association (NECCWA) wrestling tri-match this afternoon at MIT. Trinity
downed MIT, 30-27, and WPI, 23-16, to improve to 5-4 for the season.
Worcester Tech defeated MIT, 33-18, to move to 2-6, and MIT drops to 0-11.

Egolf and Connell pinned their MIT opponents to secure the narrow
victory despite three pins by MIT grapplers.  Trinity freshman Matt Webster
(Foxboro, Mass.) recovered from his fall against MIT to pin his WPI opponent
at 197 pounds, while Bantam junior 141-pounder Mark Foresi (West
Springfield, Mass.), freshman 157-pounder David Bucco (Paramus, N.J.) and
freshman heavyweight Tim Wenson (Bridgewater, Mass.) recorded key triumphs
against Worcester Tech.
