TRINITY WRESTLING SWEEPS NEW YORK TEAMS

Springfield, Mass. - Senior captain Michael Marcucio (Derby, Conn.) pinned two opponents in a combined time of 3:54 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to wins over the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners and the New York Maritime University Privateers in a quad match at Western New England College this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 5 in New England, improves to 10-7 for the season.

Marcucio, wrestling at 133 pounds, pinned his King's Point opponent in 2:08 and his Privateer opponent in 1:46. Fellow senior captain Riad deFreitas (Silver Spring, Md.) and sophomore Mark Foresi (West Springfield, Mass.) each pinned two opponents at two different weight classes. Trinity won every match it competed, taking five forfeits, and won by a pin or a technical fall in 11 of them.
