WHEATON HANDS TRINITY WOMEN’S LACROSSE
ITS SECOND LOSS OF THE SEASON

Hartford Conn. – Sophomore Caddie Jackson (Deerfield, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal with 3:24 remaining to give the visiting Wheaton College Lyons a 15-14 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in women's lacrosse action this evening at Robin L. Sheppard Field.  Wheaton improves to 6-2 with the victory, while Trinity falls to 7-2.

Trinity dominated early play, staking itself to a 3-0 lead five minutes into the game.  The Bantams controlled the game throughout the first half taking an 11-7 lead into the intermission.  Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) led the Bantams with five first half goals.

Wheaton chipped away at the Trinity lead throughout the second half, finally tying the game with 5:47 remaining.  After the Jackson goal, which gave the Lyons their first lead of the game, Wheaton changed to a more conservative offensive strategy as the game’s final minutes ran off the clock.

Gratry finished with six goals and two assists to lead all scorers.  Lauren Maynes (Woodstock, Vt.) and Vanessa Pisano (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) each had five goals for Wheaton.  Trinity outshot Wheaton, 39-24, and Bantam junior goalie Alexandra Benjamin (Weston, Mass.) had nine saves.
